Cuidados de un cinturón | Keeping your belt in great shape

¿Te has preguntado alguna vez cómo hacer que tu cinturón mantenga su calidad y te dure mucho tiempo?

Hay varias maneras de mantener tu cinturón en buen estado y diferentes cuidados que debes darle, en función del tipo de cinturón que tengas.

Si quieres que tu cinturón te dure muchos años, sigue estos consejos que te ofrecemos:

Si tu cinturón es de cuero graso, te recomendamos que lo hidrates con cremas incoloras o de color, ya que aportan flexibilidad a la piel y evitan que se sequen con el paso del tiempo.

Coge un trozo de tela o toalla y unta una pequeña cantidad sobre todo el cinturón. No olvides dejarlo secar unos minutos antes de usarlo.

Las pieles de ante o nobuck son muy elegantes y sedosas aunque algo más delicadas. Si se manchan, lo ideal es pasar un trocito de papel de lija muy fino o una esponja seca sobre la superficie para mejorar su apariencia.

Los cueros brillantes o lacados son más difíciles de marcar, por lo general se puede aplicar una pequeña cantidad de crema del color correspondiente sobre la ralladura del mismo, así disimularemos notablemente este detalle.

Si tu cinturón es de lona o está hecho con textil, puedes lavarlo a mano con un poco de agua y jabón suave.

Con respecto a las hebillas, es cierto que su brillo puede opacarse con el paso de los años, pero es sencillísimo pulirlas con un poco de goma de borrar blanda.

KEEPING YOUR BELT IN GREAT SHAPE

Ever wondered how to maintain your belt throughout time so that it keeps its qualities and lasts a very long time?

There are several ways to keep your belt in good shape and different care you should give, depending on the type of belt you have.

If you want your belt to last you for many years, follow these tips:

If your belt is made of oily leather, we recommend that you hydrate it with colorless or colored conditioner or shoe cream.

They´ll provide flexibility to the cowhide and prevent it from drying out over time.

Wipe the belt down with a slightly damp cloth before using the shoe cream or conditioner.

Then take a piece of cloth or towel and rub a small amount over the entire belt. Do not forget to let it dry a few minutes or better yet, overnight before using it.

Suede or nubuck are elegant and silky but somewhat more delicate.

If they are stained, use a very fine piece of sandpaper or a dry sponge on the surface to improve its appearance.

Shiny or lacquered leathers are more difficult to mark. In this case usually a small amount of cream of the corresponding color can be applied on the grated one of the same, thus we will conceal this detail remarkably.

If your belt is made of fabric, gently hand wash it with a little soap and water in case of stain.

What about buckles? Overtime buckles can lose their shine, but it is very simple to polish them with a soft eraser.

On December 30, we had the opportunity of being part of La Temporal’s last Pop Up store of the year. La Temporal, located a block away from Málaga’s main street Calle Larios, offers exclusive and personalized shopping experiences.

We shared our corner with other Spanish fashion brands, such as Time of Watches, Nany, Prenda and Soniup. We brought a selection of our best selling belts: Braided belts for men and women, belts with elephant appliques, suede belts, punched belts, cow hair belts, belts with handmade buckles…We had a great time and loved being part of this along with so many other Spanish fashion brands. Es posible que ya seas un asiduo de los mercados o mercadillos al aire libre, sean de abastos, de segunda mano o bien generalista. Hay muchas razones para gustarte, y aquí resumimos nuestras cinco razones por las que creemos que visitarlos vale la pena.

Visitar un mercadillo es una razón perfecta para ejercitarte de manera amable. Mientras paseas al aire libre y recorres los distintos puestos, te estás cargando de aire fresco, te relajas, y simplemente, te dejas llevar por lo que el mercado tiene que ofrecerte. ¡Además es gratis!

2. Apoyas con tus compras a comercios locales

Los mercadillos están compuestos por familias que apuestan por ofrecerte un producto local además de único y limitado. Bring cash. Although some vendors may accept credit/debit cards, this is not very common.
Make sure you keep your belongings in sight at all times. Putting your wallet in the front pockets help avoid unwanted pickpockets.
Have fun! Walk, relax, observe.

Daniela y Julia son madre e hija y amigas de The Belt Corner desde los inicios. Cuando hablamos con ellas para escoger un par de cinturones, coincidieron en que elegirían alguno de nuestra colección de Animalitos . Concretamente, dos modelos con apliques de elefantes, uno en dorado y el otro en plateado.

“¿Y porqué os decantais por este animal, en lugar de por ejemplo, nuestro modelo de apliques con forma de perro?” Quisimos saber…

Daniela nos sorprendió al contarnos una entrañable anécdota de su hija.

Cuando Julia era pequeñita, tuvo un sueño curioso en el que en lugar de ser una niña, se había convertido en bebé elefante. Cuidando de ella y también convertida en elefante, estaba su madre Daniela. Y así, juntas en sueño y en vigilia, siendo elefantes o siendo humanas… están conectadas y con estos cinturones hacen un pequeño guiño a esta historia.

Un cariñoso abrazo para nuestras dos protagonistas. ¡Hasta pronto chicas!

Daniela and Julia are mum and daughter and longtime friends of The Belt Corner.

When we guided them to choose a belt of their liking, they both instantly agreed on picking one from our “Animalitos” (little animals) collection.

More specifically, they wanted the ones with little golden and silver elephants.

We wanted to know why they seemed so prone to the elephants as oppossed to the also available belts with little gold and silver dogs.

Well…Daniela shared with us an adorable anecdote from her daughter: When Julia was a little kid, she had a dream where she was a baby elephant.Taking good care of her was her mum, turned into an elephant mother!

This is how, whether humans or elephants…their belts remind them and connect them to this lovely story.
